Developing sustainable luxury tourism
VIP – Network of Excellence for Sustainable Luxury Tourism project supports SMEs in the tourism and leisure sectors in Uusimaa by developing the service, sales and marketing skills of their staff. Our aim is to create a network of knowledge and innovation that will contribute to the competitiveness and attractiveness of the region, in line with the principles of sustainable development.
Objectives of the project
Improving the skills of SMEs and their staff:
The aim is to develop skills to provide a high level of service and better meet the expectations of demanding customer groups. This will be achieved by innovating new products and services, exploiting the attractiveness of Uusimaa and through responsible practices.
Creating a knowledge network for high quality service:
The network will contribute to the competence and competitiveness of companies and staff in the tourism sector and related sectors in Uusimaa, in line with the principles of sustainable development. The network will enable SMEs to develop the skills of their staff and create new innovative, high-quality services.
Development of sustainable services, products and customer pathways:
Through peer learning and close cooperation, the skills of SME staff in developing sustainable services, products, concepts, sales and marketing will be promoted. The project will produce new pilot models based on peer learning and close cooperation with indirect target groups and driver companies.
Multi-actor cooperation and peer learning:
The project will create a multidisciplinary knowledge network where the staff of SMEs in the tourism sector in Uusimaa, the region’s expert, business and innovation ecosystem and the driver companies will be able to create a common vision, objectives and roadmap for the knowledge network.
Creating new business opportunities and career paths:
The project will create new business opportunities and career paths in the high quality sector of tourism. This will support the economic growth and prosperity of the region.
